My First Post

Hello everyone for my first post I decided to make a cake!!! Out of books? Before you get too excited no I am not making a real cake but I am going to do the book cake tag off  of goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1671014-book-cake-tag. For this tag I will have a list of "ingredients" that I have to select a book for so without further ado here is my cake!

1) Flour - A book that was a little bit slow to start off but that really picked up as it went along.

When you first open this book you find yourself in an old-timesh feeling town with a fairly intriguing mystery to greet you. All the men disappear at age 18. Well it is fun and interesting to infer why this occurs the book doesn't really pick up until the main character Gray escapes the town and discovers why this "heist" occurs from then on this book is action packed, full of amazing characters, surprising twists and is simply impossible to put down.

2) Margarine - A book that had a really rich and great plot.

I just loved the plot of this book. It was so complex and unlike anything I have read before. Delirium contained the perfect mix of an exciting and original plot, interesting and dynamic characters and just a dash of romance to finish it all off I read this book in a day the plot was just that exciting.

3) Eggs - A book that you thought was going to be bad but actually turned out quite enjoyable.

I only really picked up this book because one of my friends said it was really good and I had nothing else to read. I prefer action packed books so I thought that a plain old love story was gonna bore me. Boy was I wrong! Eleanor and Park was unlike anything I ever read the characters, were relatable interesting and funny the plot was dynamic and fresh and it played with my emotions both making me laugh and cry I loved how real this book felt. I am so so glad I gave it a chance.

4) Sugar - A sugary/sweet book.

Ok to be honest this book is actually really sad and I cried while I was reading it. A better word for it would be bitter sweet. Because the tragedy that rocks the main characters life is definitely not sweet but I remember gushing over the childhood love re-awakened element of this and I enjoyed how she was given a fresh start. To be honest I couldn't think of a book that was truly sweet.

5) Icing - A book that covered every single element that you enjoy about a book (funny moments, action moments, sad moments, etc.).

I loved this book! The characters are all so unique and interesting the plot had never ending action there were moments when I laughed and moments when I cried. I could not put this book down! I love the mix of fantasy and reality in the setting (England in the later 1800's ish) and the perfect amounts of romance, mystery, hilarity and intense action.

6) Sprinkles - A book series that you can kind of turn to for a little pick me up when you're feeling down.

How could I make my first post and not include Harry Potter? Answer: I couldn't. Harry Potter is defiantly the series I turn to for a pick me up Hogwarts has become my second home and no matter how many times I read it I always feel truly immersed in the brilliant plot and just the magic of it all. I love the characters in the novel and I always feel like I am a part of the trio helping Harry along his journey. These books are my childhood love that I still have. After all this time? Always.

7) The cherry on top - Your favorite book this year so far.

There are so so so many books I loved this year but when I really thought about my favourite I just had to choose this one. I love the Lunar Chronicles series so much and the third book did not disappoint! I love the complicated yet sweet romance between Cress and Captain Jack and I just love the introduction of Cress as a character she is the perfect mix of innocent yet determined ad is a great addition to the characters already present throughout the series. Can we also take a second to appreciate the plot twists in this book! I was constantly surprised and never bored  could not put this book down and I highly
recommend it.

There you have it! My book cake!! Tell me in the comments what ingredients you would use or recommend another tag for me to do. Thanks for reading :)
